STUDENT OF THE MONTH – February 2018

Although Yacine Zribi has been taking Classical Piano lessons for the past seven years, his heart is in Jazz and enjoys playing other instruments, such as the Arabic and African drums and the Xylophone.

Yacine joined the Music Chamber in 2011 when he was only five years. At that early age, he fell in love the Piano once he heard it at an aptitude lesson for early beginners at the Academy.

In Summer 2017 he culminated his hard work for the ABRSM exams with a Distinction in Grade 4. This result is motivating him to keep his high score this year.

What does he think of his Piano and Aural Teacher, Yacine quickly says: “I think Ms Desislava is a very interactive teacher with a bright smile every time I see her. She always explains exactly what to do in every phrase of the piece.”
He also enjoys studying at the Music Chamber because of the active musical activities. “We have a recital every term,” Yacine says. “Also theory books are very colorful unlike other places.”

When he is not playing or listening to music, Yacine likes to play basketball or go out on his bike.
