STUDENT OF THE MONTH – OCTOBER 2018
SOPHIA IRIS STEWARD | PIANO GRADE 6 & VIOLIN GRADE 5
At the tender age of eight, Sophia Steward has already set her eyes to the skies. She aims to be a music composer and is hard at work to find her inspiration. She scored Distinction in Grade 5 Piano at the Summer ABRSM exams and is sitting shortly for another Grade 5 on Violin in the Winter ABRSM exams.
The Music Chamber has nominated her as the Top winner of our Annual Sight Reading Competition with a cash prize of 1,000 AED.
“When I think about my student, Sophia Steward, I think about one of the best students at the Music Chamber Academy,” her teacher Mr Sebastian Spulber says proudly. “With her perfect pitch and excellent singing skills, she is taking the Choir Group lessons very seriously,” he adds, predicting a bright future for this young talent.
Sophia started learning the piano at the age of five, but is happy to have found Mr Sebastian only 13 months ago at the Music Chamber. “He is a very dedicated teacher and he inspires me a lot,” she says.
Another reason why she loves studying at the Music Chamber is because she can learn lots of songs with the Choir and meet other Music Chamber students who share her passion for music.
Outside music, Sophia loves art and playing tennis.
