Mr. Djavad Atabekov – Drums & Percussions

The Music Chamber is thrilled to advise that a new member has joined our international team as Drums & Percussions Teacher. Mr Djavad Atabekov will start on September 1streplacing Mr Andrey Stepanov, who has returned to his home country to be close to his wife expecting their second baby in few weeks. We wish them both a smooth delivery and a super healthy baby.

Coming from a family of musicians, Mr Djavad knew from his youth where his heart is. At the tender age of six, he joined a school that focused on Woodwind and Percussions, before pursuing his studies in Jazz and Contemporary Music at the National Conservatoire in Tashkent.

He has performed with the National Symphonic Orchestra both as a soloist and actor and has taken part in many competitions on Marimba, Vibraphone, Timpani and other percussion instruments, scoring top International prizes. He also participated in charity concerts dedicated for children welfare.

“I love to work with children. It is my biggest joy when I watch them grow in skills and confidence,” Mr Djavad says, adding that he is especially excited to join the Music Chamber, where he be working with students from “so many nationalities and backgrounds.”

He has also taught drums both in private and at schools, utilizing his skills in bringing people together from various backgrounds and skills in team work.

Mr Djavad loves reading fiction, playing chess, swimming and cooking.
